The first vehicle launched by the company Porsche was Porsche Boxster. Harm Lagaay had designed it to be as a perfect and complete roadster. Porsche Boxster is mid-engined and all Porsche cars prepared before Porsche Boxster were developed from hardtop autos.
The name “Boxster” derives from the word “Boxer” which refers to a boxer engine and a horizontally opposed vehicle, both of which are significant characteristic traits of Porsche Boxster. The term “roadster” refers to the convertible top and the two seat capacity of the vehicle.

The very first Boxster model, known as the famous 1997 model, was introduced in the year 1996. It was power-driven by a 2.5 liter flat engine that was motorized by six cylinders. In the year 2002, the new modified version, Boxster S, premiered with a 3.2 liter engine. Moreover, same year itself, the original version was provided with a more powerful engine (2.7 liter). In 2003, both Boxster variants received upgraded engine and stylish outputs.
