Power Steering Pump Failure
If the power steering on your car stops working, the problem could be power steering pump failure. The failure can be caused by a bad hose that causes the steering fluid to leak. One of the signs that can let you know there is a problem is a whining or buzzing sound under your hood. The failure also makes it difficult for you to control the steering wheel.
The problem is usually caused by a failure in the steering rack. This failure is often gradual but needs to be checked before the damage becomes extensive. If this happens, it can make you lose control of your car and this is very dangerous.
Check the steering rack to see if there are some metal pieces in the power steering fluid. If there are any, it means that it is wearing out and you need to take your car to the garage for repairs. To solve the problem, you will have to replace the steering rack or steering pump.
